The theme for creating a graduation piece was 'Unexpected'. I made my word web and worked from there. I drew a frame made out of an umbilical cord, referring to: nature, birth and how life can take interesting turns. Pictured in the middle, a signature hand drawing with a ring. This ring I had gotten from my partner, at this point in life, our (long-distance) relationship was yet to be revealed to family and friends - which would be unexpected for them. The hand holds an eyeball as if it was ripped out, referring to the subtitle I gave this work: "All the unexpected things in life are eye opening."
